General Hood thinks the enemy will hardly give you battle to-day. Better block all the roads leading from Camp Creek Church toward East Point if not already done. Keep an infantry picket at Hornsby's. Use pioneers to push forward works. He will send you troops if pressed.

General Hood desires one brigade of Walthall's division to remain at East Point, with a train of cars, with steam up from daylight to dark, ready to carry up the other brigade or bring down the one already there, as the case may require. Please establish your headquarters near East Point.
