The 4 1/2-inch gun to be turned over to the Army of the Tennessee is waiting in rear of the position on the right of the Twentieth Corps, in which it was previously intended to place it. Please send for it as soon as convenient.

Captain CASE:

Skirmishing quite brisk this a.m. Rebels threw a few shells at us this a.m. Quiet now. Cannonading still going on briskly on our right. Shells from our big guns explode on the outskirts of city. I saw an engine and six empty cars in city this a.m.
