The enemy who have been encamped in front of General Milroy's position on Shenandoah top, consisting of the Thirty-first, Thirty-second, and Fifty-eighth Virginia Regiments, Hansbrough's battalion, and Twelfth Georgia Regiment, twelve guns, and three companies of cavalry, under command of General Johnson have retreated on the road to Staunton. A reconnoitering party from Montery entered their camp yesterday. A company sent by General Milroy down the North Fork captured eight persons, including a notorious guerrilla named Bennett.

5. Brigadier General Henry M. Naglee is released from arrest, is relieved from duty in Hooker's division, and will without delay report to Brigadier General Silas Casey for the command of a brigade of his division.

6. Brigadier General Cuvier Grover will report to Brigadier General Joseph Hooker, commanding division, Third Corps, for assignment by him to the command of a brigade.
