A force of the enemy, 150 strong, attacked the post at Coalsmouth at 9 o'clock last night. They were driven off; their loss was 5 wounded and 1 killed. The force from Winfield pursued and captured 1 prisoner.

2. The Twelfth Regiment Maryland Volunteer Infantry (100 days' service), Lieutenant Colonel John L. Bishop commanding, will be put en route at once, to report to Brigadier-General Stevenson, commanding officer at Harper's Ferry, W. Va. The quartermaster's department will furnish the necessary transportation. Brigadier General E. B. Tyler, commanding First Separate Brigade, is charged with the execution of this order.
