MAJOR: By direction of Brigadier General John M. Corse, commanding Fourth Division, Fifteenth Army Corps, you will, at early daylight to-morrow morning, December 10, move with your command across the bridge you are now guarding, and, if possible, take possession of the ridge on the other side, sending word to these headquarters immediately on gaining the ridge, or sooner, if possible, if you develop the enemy in force.

SPECIAL ORDERS,
HDQRS. SEVENTEENTH ARMY CORPS, Numbers 303. Station 1, GA., December 9, 1864.

The following are the orders for the movement to-morrow:

1. Brigadier General G. A. Smith, commanding Fourth Division, will have the advance, and will move forward at 7 a. m.

2. Brigadier General M. D. Leggett, commanding Third Division, will follow the Fourth Division.

3. Major General J. A. Mower, commanding First Division, will follow the Third Division.

4. The First Michigan Regiment of Engineers, with a sufficient number of tools to repair the toad, in wagons, will follow the Fourth Division.

5. The division trains, except the ordnance train and ambulances, which will follow their respective divisions, will move in rear of the troops in the same order of march as the command to which they belong, and each division commander will leave with his train a light guard to protect the flanks. The rear will be protected by a brigade from General Kilpatrick's cavalry. When practicable the wagons will move two abreast.

6. The train of the headquarters Military Division of the Mississippi and of these headquarters will move at the head of general train.
