SPECIAL ORDERS,
HDQRS. SEVENTEENTH ARMY CORPS, Numbers 301. Station 3, GA., December 7, 1864.

II. Mounted foragers from the infantry will not hereafter be permitted; foraging must be done on foot by the infantry details. All animals now used by infantry foragers must be turned in at once to the division quartermasters, to be disposed of by them as the chief quartermaster of the corps may direct.

III. This command will move forward to-morrow as follows:

1. Brigadier General M. D. Leggett, commanding Third Division, will have the advance, and will move forward at 7 a. m.

2. Major General J. A. Mower, commanding First Division, will follow the Third Division, being prepared to move at 8 o'clock.

3. Brigadier General G. A. Smith, commanding Fourth Division, will follow the First Division, being prepared to move at 9 o'clock.

4. The First Regiment Michigan Engineers will be prepared to move at 7. 30 a. m., and the regiment will move at the head of the column, with a sufficient number of tools for clearing or repairing the road. Their train will move in rear of the train of the Third Division.

5. The pontoon train, Lieutenant Colonel J. M. Rusk commanding, will move in rear of the First Division train. The train of headquarters Military Division of the Mississippi and of these headquarters will move as heretofore.

The troops of this command will be prepared to march to-morrow at 7 a. m. Order of march: First, pioneer corps; second, First Brigade; third, battery; fourth, Second Brigade; fifth, Third Brigade; sixth, ambulance train; seventh, ordnance train; eighth, supply train.
