The signal officer on the plank road reports that at 10.30 a. m. a body of infantry, estimated at 3,000, came out of the woods near the advance works on the Weldon railroad, and moved westward on the road running in that direction.

Information received at these headquarters renders it necessary that the vigilance should be observed by the picked by the pickets in close contact with the enemy, and that any indications of movement on their part should be promptly reported to these headquarters.
