Every officer of this command is enjoined to assist, in the execution of this order in spirit and in letter, and is authorized to use such means as may be in his power to prevent its violation, and will be held responsible for all acts committed in his presence, unless he can establish the fact that he used all due measures, to prevent it. This order will be read to-night in each regiment and detachment of this command.

Captain Henry C. Inwood, One hundred and sixty-fifth New York Volunteers, is hereby detached from his regiment and appointed acting aide-de-camp at these headquarters and provost-marshal of U. S. troops in Western Louisiana, and is announced as such . He will be obeyed and respected accordingly.
