RELAY HOUSE, May 25, 1864.

Lieutenant-Colonel LAWRENCE,

I have no troops in Charles or Calvert Counties. Infantry would be of little service three without cavalry, particularly the militia. A number of rebel deserters were reported last evening between Noland's and Conrad's Ferries, on the other side of the Potomac. Captain Buckley is looking after them. Will report to-day.

E. B. TYLER,

Brigadier-General.
