SIR: I have the honor to request that the signal corps may be furnished with one of your small launches, with a boat's crew, for the purpose of establishing during the daytime a signal station as far up the Apalachee River as is prudent, for the purpose of noting the effect of our fire and other objects if interest.

Line accordingly.
