ABBEVILLE, November 28, 1862.

Major J. R. WADDY,

Assistant Adjutant-General:

I do not wish any cavalry to go from Columbus. If any has gone to New Albany let it return to the front of Columbus on the line of the railroad.

J. C. PEMBERTON,

Lieutenant-General, Commanding.

ABBEVILLE, November 28, 1862.

General PEMBERTON:

Enemy advancing from Mississippi River fired with artillery at pickets near mouth of Coldwater. Cavalry had better return. Reported crossing Tallahotchie with cavalry at sundown this evening. I will send the Tobytubby cavalry to that point.

Major-General.

J. C. PEMBERTON,

Lieutenant-General, Commanding.

Please attend to this dispatch, as connected with yours to Generals Holmes and Bragg.
