I am greatly obliged by your information, and I act at once. Have ordered that no trains now west of Cumberland shall pass east of that point, and that none shall be sent to points west of Harper's Ferry until further notice. From your advices, can enemy reach us in less than twenty-four hours? If we can safely use this much time, we can work a large amount of equipment east of Harper's Ferry that may prove important in your military movement. Is any danger of raids indicated east of Harper's Ferry?
