Dispatch just received, dated 10 a. m. thirteen miles from here, reports 100 rebels at Provost- Marshal Devine's last night; states their force in that neighborhood to be 300 or 400. I shall start a force of 115 men, under Captain Devine, at once, with three days' rations. Am I right in doing so! Please answer.

Send Captain Page 's company, of the twenty- sixth, to Russellville, to remain there temporarily. The evidence in Goulder's case is positive; the execution of his sentence, "to be shot to death," to be at once carried out.
