9th ANNUAL BRANCH COUNTY CIVIL WAR DAYS

 

                               Memorial Day Weekend

                                    May 26 -29, 2016

                           Heritage Park, Coldwater, Michigan

 

This year marks our ninth year and since then it has grown to be one ofgents
the best statewide events in Michigan on Memorial Day Weekend.  This
year kicks off on Thursday evening May 26th, at 7 pm with an Oakgrove
cemetery walk where you can hear a stories from a  few of the over 400
veterans buried there.  Friday evening around 5 pm there will be a
train ride to pick up President Lincoln and bring him back to Coldwater.
This is a free ride for veterans and students 1 yr to 17 yrs old,
children must be accompanied by an adult. For tickets (everyone must

train ride there will be a concert by singer, songwriter, Jim Stout at
Heritage Park at 7 pm.

On  Saturday start boarding at 9:30 am for Train Ride robbery excursion
at the Little River Railroad, with tickets for sale at various

 Also Saturday and Sunday starting at 9 am until 4 pm (3 pm on Sunday)
at Heritage Park with Free admission,  a full day of  Military and
Civilian impressions, demonstrations, encampments, drills,  period
craftsman at work and entertainment with a battle at 2 pm,  a raffle
for items donated by area businesses both days.  A period dance at 7 pm
to 10 pm (Saturday only) under the big tent at Heritage Park and a Civil
War Church Service on Sunday morning .gals

All this and more makes for an adventurous, educational, fun filled,
holiday weekend in Coldwater, Michigan.
