Army, forwarded by Major-General Walker with his response to General Wallace. * I have forwarded copies by the blockade from Galveston to Mr. Helm and requested him to send them by safe opportunity to Mr. Slidell. A copy of my letter of transmittal to him is herewith inclosed.

Copies have been forwarded to Richmond.
