38. capt. L. B. Norton, Signal Corps, U. S. Army, is hereby relieved from duty in the Department of Virginia, and will report to the chief signal office, U. S. Army, at Washington, D. C., to be assigned to the position held at present by Captain, Joseph . Shencer, Signal Corps, U. S. Army.

40. Bvt. Major J. C. Paine, Signal Corps, U. S. Army, is hereby relieved from duty in the Army of the Potomac, and will report to Major-General Ord, commanding the Department of Virginia, to assume charge of the signal detachment connected with that department.
