NOTTE ON ORIGINAL.-These is evidently error in Forrest's command. He crossed 2,500 effectives over the Tennessee, and Roddey (not reported) had not less than 2,000. This would increase cavalry 2,900. I can only get these reports corrected by degrees.-W. W. MACKALL, Chief of Staff.
