GENERAL: The major-general commanding directs that you move one strong brigade of your command to Middletown, Va., to remain there until to-morrow. Your picket-line will remain unchanged. Two division of cavalry have up the Valley and one division to Front Royal.

Commanding First Division:

GENERAL: In pursuance of orders from headquarters Middle Military Division you will move on strong brigade of your command to Middletown, Va., to remain by there until to-morrow. You will fill the interval in your line made by their absence by detaching regiment from the remaining brigades of your command. Your picket-line will remain unchanged. Two divisions of cavalry have up the Valley and one division to Front Royal.
