Commanding Ninth Corps:

The commanding general directs that your order two regiments of colored troops to report forthwith to Brigadier-General Graham, at Point of Rocks. General Butler will send you two regiments of white troops to replace them on their reporting to General Graham. It has [been] decided to transfer the colored troops of the Ninth Corps to General Butler's command, and order to that effect will soon be issued. Please acknowledge.
