MAJOR: I have the honor to report to report that with the exception of some heavy skirmishing in front of Fort Davis nothing of importance has occurred on the line during the past twenty-four hours.

COLONEL: The pickets report that from the noise heard the enemy must have been moving troops away from our front or from our right toward the left. A rumbling of wagons and barking of dogs was heard throughout the night as it from a large body of troops in motion.
