COLONEL: The following dispositions of troops and supplies are ordered, and you are directed to lose no time in putting forth every energy at your command to accomplish the same at the earliest practicable day,and i na manner to promote the best interests of the service, with the least possible public demonstration of the changes taking place.

Dispositions,&c.-Tucson to be evacuated as a military post; Tubac to be garrisoned with one company of cavalry; Fort Bowie to be garrisoned with one company of infantry; Fort Goodwin to be garrisoned with two companies of infantry, if practicable, and one of cavalry.
