Dispatch just received. Will be ready for boats on Monday at the Cape to ship part of the Seventeenth Illinois Cavalry; remainder can go on Tuesday. I will be at the Cape to-morrow night. You can reach me at this place until to-morrow morning. Thompson has agreed to surrender at some future time.

General Warner has telegraphed me to have the Seventeenth Illinois Cavalry ready for Monday and Tuesday. It will be done. I am now in communication with him. Inform me if you want the regiment to move earlier.

Warrensburg:

General Mitchell reports large bands of guerrillas committing depredations near Westport and driving inhabitants into Kansas and Kansas City. Brigadier General M. Jeff. Thompson surrendered all Confederate forces in North Arkansas to me yesterday.

I. The sub-districts of the District of Central Missouri as heretofore existing are hereby discontinued, and the district is resub-districted as follows:

First. The First Sub-District will comprise the counties of Pettis, Cooper, Moniteau, Morgan, Cole, and all of Miller, Camden, and Benton Counties north of the Osage River, headquarters at Jefferson City, Mo., Colonel John G. Clark, Fiftieth Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, commanding.
