GENERAL: The major-general commanding is very desirous that the advance should be made in time to prevent too much concentration of the enemy at Vermillionville. Washburn has been ordered to move up to-morrow, and the Fourth Division, Thirteenth Corps, leaves this for Brashear to-morrow.

GENERAL: The major-general commanding desires that you send forward as rapidly as possible the Fourth Division, Thirteenth Army Corps, to join the First and Third Divisions, now in the field, and that you proceed, as soon as you are satisfied with the completeness of the movement, to take personal command of those three division.
