Commanding District of Middle Tennessee:GENERAL: The major-general commanding the department directs that you cause a salute of 200 guns to be fired at meridian to-morrow, at every post within the District of Middle Tennessee and Northern Alabama which is prepared to fire such salute, in honor of the capture of the rebel Army of Northern Virginia and of the raising of the old flag over Fort Sumter. General Miller will be directed to fire a salute of 200 guns from each of two points of the post of Nashville.

Knoxville, Tenn., April 13, 1865.In honor of the surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia by the great general of the rebellion, and the raising of the Star Spangled Banner by Major-General Anderson upon Fort Sumter to-morrow, a salute of 200 guns will be fired at meridian to-morrow by each post within the bounds of this district.
