COLONEL: I respectfully submit the following as my report of the number of recruits received at this office since the army entered the State of Tennessee: Cheatham's corps, 85; Stewart's corps, 36; Lee's corps, 31; post duty, 7; cavalry, 4; artillery, 1; total, 164. Johnson's division has had assigned to it 296 dismounted cavalry, of whom all have deserted except 42.
