Commanding, Tunnel Hill:

You will move to Dalton to-day, taking only the troops of the Fifteenth and Seventeenth Army Corps, leaving the Fourteenth and Twentieth Army Corps. The troops of your command this side of Tunnel Hill have been relieved, and are now on their way here. Troops in blockhouses south of you, if belonging to Army of the Tennessee, you will bring with you, reporting fact to Colonel Mitchell, at Dalton. Answer how you understand this.

I understand that I am to take troops of Fifteenth and Seventeenth Corps and proceed to Dalton at once, without reference to relief, taking the troops of same corps at block-houses between here and Dalton.

Eleventh Kentucky [Cavalry], Lebanon, Ky.:

Move with your detachment to-morrow morning, via Saloma, Pitmansville, Buffalo, and Hodgensville, to Elizabethtown. Scout the country thoroughly on your arrival at Elizabethtown. Report to General Ewing, at Louisville, for orders. Carry rations with you for three days.
