GENERAL: Please collect and move all the cavalry to the north side of Duck River, crossing by the ford near the pontoon bridge; the wagons may cross on the bridge. Having got everything across go into camp, forage, unsaddle, and groom, so as to get as good a rest as possible. Please send me as soon as possible a rough estimate of strength. Let the camp be made as close to the river as possible.
