Your commissary reports large amount commissary stores at Golsborough. It is important to save them. I am sure you will have time to do so. They are of great importance to us, so please have them brought a way.

I am informed troops are en route this way from Raleigh. Should not all such be ordred to stop at Smithfield? I will stop there those now coming till your wish is known.
