Major PARKER:

I telegraphed Commodore Pinckney asking him to organize all the naval forces in his department and those from Charleston into one command under his charge, and assign them to duty at the batteries at the obstructions, taking the surplus as an infantry support. R. F. HOKE,

Major-General.

Respectfully,

RYAN.

R. F. HOKE,

Major-General.
