There are indications of enemy threatening a raid upon the Peninsula in formidable force. Do your plans allow the return of Corse's brigade? If so, hold it ready to move on order.

Enemy reported to be moving toward Lewisburg, by ay Huntersville. General Imboden has been directed to follow them, communicating with you, and in concernt to strike them. Forces said to be from 5,000 to 7,000-cavalry, artillery, and infantry.
