II. Brigadier-General Martin will move two of the regiments near Kinston, and the Forty-fourth Regiment North Carolina troops without delay by rail to Petersburg. He will report his progress en route to these headquarters, so that orders may reach him on the arrival of the first regiment of his command at Petersburg.
