June 8, 1863

Cold the past few days. Made fire and it felt comfortable. To the bank a few hours, spent the rest of the day at home reading and writing. Col. McClure received a dispatch that we might be subject to a raid soon. The bank has sent its most valuable papers off to Philadelphia for safe keeping. Nothing has been confirmed to the Rebels positions south of us, but speculation is rife and everyone uneasy.
