Drs. Lewis Barber and Charles B. Parker were released at Chicago by order of General Halleck. There were no reports from Camps Butler and Morton. They have been called for.

GENERAL: I have honor to inclose herewith the petition of Dr. W. H. Newell, a prisoner of war. From the report of General Viele it appears that he was taken and has been held a surgeon in the Confederate service, and in this view of his case I respectfully suggest that he is entitled to his discharge under General Orders, Numbers 60 paragraph IV.
