The 66th Ohio was among the first to accept the proposal of the National Government for a rei : nlistment, and was the first Ohio regiment to return to the State on the thirty days' "veteran furlough " granted to all the "veteran volunteer" regiments. The largest number of reenlistments — 534 — occurred in the 39th Ohio, Colonel Edward F. Noyes. The next highest were :'
