20, 1862.- The Confederate Army of Tennessee constituted, to consist of E. Kirby Smith's, Polk's, and Hardee's army corps.
24, 1862.- General Joseph E. Johnston, C. S. Army, assigned to a command embracing Western North Carolina, Tennessee, Northern Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Eastern Louisiana. Skirmish near Tompkinsville, Ky.
25, 1862.-Skirmish at Calhoun, Ky.
