Blue & Gray Educational Society- Doing the Sesquicentennial

Doing the Sesquicentennial

Despite the lack of a national focus, Blue and Gray Education Society (434-250-9921), a 17 year old nonprofit educational organization, has created a systematic study of the war and, in their unique style, presented a road map to people seeking a cogent presentation. With a master plan of programs from 2011-2015 on line at www.blueandgrayeducation.org, students and Civil War buffs can plan a modest and cumulative set of travels with nationally recognized experts in small groups of 25 or less.

A ante-bellum themed program in Charleston February 2-6 presents “Storm Clouds on the Horizon.”  Programs will be held during the anniversary of First Bull Run and in November at Wilson’s Creek led by scholars who have written books about on the battles; but the highlight of the year is a “Europe in the Civil War” tour from Liverpool to Paris in April—but act fast!
