Civil War Official Record
This is a compilation of the official records of the union and confederate armies. The reports contained in this document were written by officers and principal commands who recorded the records in some cases several months after the events occurred.
It is best to read several accounts of a battle or campaign to gain a full picture of the actual event.
This is the entire military record during the period of the Civil War. In the record are numerous personal accounts which provide insight to not only the American Civil War, but also life and times of the 1860s from California to the Indian Wars of the Great Plains.
