According to The Photographic History of the Civil War By Francis Trevelyan Miller, Robert Sampson Lanier:

“Fort Stevens, on the north line of the defenses of Washington bore the brunt of the Confederate attack in the action of July 12, 1864, when Early threatened Washington. The smooth-bore guns in its armament were two 8 inch siege howitzers en embrasure, six 24 pounder siege guns en embrasure, two 24 Pounder sea coast guns en barbette. It was also armed with five 30 pounder Parrott rifled guns, one 10 inch siege mortar and one 24 pounder Coehorn mortar.”

Assuming that the photo was taken at or about the time that Early threatened Washington I would have to go with 30 pound Parrotts since the other guns were either mortars, or on the walls.

If you google "3rd Massachusetts Heavy Artillery in Fort Stevens" and click on "The Photographic History of the Civil War ... - Google Books Result" the book is available for download. Sorry, but the link is too long to post in my reply.

God I love Google and the internet!
