Hi. Newbie here (from Scotland).
I have found an online newspaper resource covering the period of the Civil War (it covers 1840s - 1902 actually), a Northern newspaper, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle.
http://www.brooklynpubliclibrary.org/eagle/
Can someone recommend any similar sites? (preferably ones you don't have to pay for)
I have a fascination for the history of the period of the Civil War and am enjoying very much approaching it from the standpoint of contemporary opinion. I'd like to look at other sources so I'm not just stuck to the editorial opinion of the Eagle.
Many thanks for listening.
