View Full Version : Presidental Election of 1864
The election of 1864 was very important. For the CSA, it was the only chance of survival. If Lincoln lost, which seemed likely, the Confederacy would have won. Lincoln himself though that he was going to lose. But the fall of Atlanta and Sheridan's success in the Shenandoah returned people's faith in Lincoln.

the presidential election of 1864 was one of the most important elections in our nation's history. if mcclellan won then he would want to end the war right there and then and do anything to end the war and the confederacy probably won.
