In your battle summaries, you don't mention that Hancock was key in capturing 2 Confederate generals at Spotsylvania. You don't mention that he chose the battlefield at Gettysburg, commanded the left wing on the second day stopping Longstreet, and stopped Pickett's Charge on the third day. I did my senior thesis on Hancock, and I know he's a tough subject because his wife burned his papers after his death (wives are the enemies of history), but come on, folks! It is easily proved that if no one could stomach Meade's temper, Hancock would have been the choice to lead the Army of the Potomac (see Richard Dana's papers in the Official Records). Grant always gave his generals very specific orders, he was known for it, but Grant usually left things to Hancock as to what to do with the 2nd Corps. So, come on, guys! You can't just ignore Hancock because he's a tough subject! It's all in the Official Records if you just take the time to check it out. In no way should he be forgotten!
