I'm going to have to do a Civil War movie reenactment of a Civil War battle for a school project. I have not much knowledge of the War and was wondering what battle to choose for my reenactment.
Requirements:
-wooded area, no fields
-not a massive battle, like Antietam or Gettysburg. I think i'll be able to get about 30 extras for my movie, which could be made to look large, but i don't want to have to shoot a battle in large scope.
I think that's it, thanks to anyone?

Costumes:
I'm looking at just having basic stuff for background, just grey or blue jackets. Nothing will need to look spiffy for those guys.
As for my key actors, I will need to look into some good costumes.
30 Extras:
A lot of kids in my school would be willing to do this sort of thing, they love it.
We set up a French and Indian War one last year, planned for 20 people, got 13 or 14, still wasn't bad.
The Battle:
I was thinking maybe a random skirmish, but our teacher is going to want a large battle, maybe not major, but still a signicant one. I was hoping one of you guys would know something about that huge list of battles on tghe left and would be abel to help me out.
Thanks

I am a civil war re-enactor myself and have much knowldge of the w.ar. There are many small battles you could do. For example, you don't have to do the whole battle of Gettysburg, you could do one engagement. Little Round Top was a smalll one you could do it took place on a hill in the woods and the confederates had repeated assults so you could have the people fall back out of sight and then bring them back again. the union side did not retreat so you could have them stay at the top of the hill.

my favorite wood's battle is the battle of the wilderness, mainly because the soldiers on both sides could barley see each other.

Shiloh; you could do the Hornets Nest or just small parties wandering around in fear.
