Candlelight Tours, 5-7pm
Join a historic character on a wagon ride around the grounds and then tour the 1794 home of northern Virginia’s first congressman, Richard Bland Lee, by natural candlelight. Hear seasonal music, make an ornament to take home, and sample sugar cookies from a recipe in Sully’s open hearth cookbook. Each night discover a different historic period as your move around the house and grounds.
Dec 11 - Federal period with dancing, singing and cooking in the open hearth kitchen. Dec 12 - Victorian period featuring Santa Clause and the 1885 Christmas tree. Dec 18 - Civil War Christmas with Confederate soldiers, parlor games and music by Evergreen Shade.
Prepaid reservations requested beginning 11/1. $10/adult, $7 senior and child
