I am researching the existence of this element as an artillery battery unit. I have not heard of this unit before, but suspect it could be attached as an artillery unit to the famed Irish Brigade. Internet research has not confirmed my suspicion, but I hope there may be a knowledge base on this forum to validate the existence or non-existence of a 'Poagues Battery' as a Civil War military unit.
