I know all you "old hands" have read these, but maybe some of you rookies would like to! My favorite books by far about the Civil War are:

Team of Rivals......by Doris Kearns Goodwin
The Killer Angels......by Michael Shaara
Traveller......by Richard Adams

PS....Lee used the old english spelling when he named his horse. I've seen it spelled different ways, but I believe this is correct.[/b]

Wiley Sword's Shiloh : Bloody April is a fine book on that battle.

Stephen Woodworth's Nothing But Victory , The Army of Tennessee is a recently read and appreciated addition to the book shelves . A large very well written history .

GFR Henderson's classic Stonewall Jackson

Just a few of my favorites .
