Post subject: Historic soldier Bibles on display
“This is an exhibit about America and its relationship with God,” said collector Dr. Rusty Maisel. “It is an important part of the history of all of the wars Americans were involved in. Many people don’t even know how prevalent Bibles were or realize millions and millions of Bibles have been distributed to soldiers — each telling its own story.”
Included in the collection is one of the rarest Bibles in American history — a first edition published by the Confederate States Bible Society, which were bound with bad glue and had a tendency to fall apart easily.
